The Anti Anti-Aging Movement
Journal
There was a time when taking care of yourself meant keeping it simple — a little moisturiser, drinking more water, getting decent sleep.
Now? It’s a full-blown mission to stay 22 forever.

These days, aging isn’t just a life process. It’s a problem we’re expected to solve.
With serums. With supplements. With the promise of “reverse aging” — as if that’s a thing.
But here’s the irony:
When I was actually 22, I did none of it.
At 22, I lived on four hours of sleep and cheese-stuffed everything. I barely worked out, didn’t drink enough water, and still woke up looking… dewy.
Now? I can’t pull that off — and to be honest, I don’t even want to.
Because here’s what I’ve realised: aging isn’t the issue. The real issue is expecting our skin and body to behave like they did a decade ago, while putting in none of the care they now require.
We want results, but without the effort. Glow, without the basics. Youth, without the years. Skincare can support you. But it’s not magic — it can’t fix a lifestyle that runs on stress, sugar, and zero sleep.
You can’t live like a trash panda and expect to look like a glazed donut. And no, that’s not a dig. It’s a reminder. That the goal isn’t to look younger — it’s to look your best for where you are in life.
Your body evolves. With age, it functions at a different optimum. You just have to care a little more — move more, rest better, nourish better. And see how it responds!
I didn’t always see it this way. I was least bothered at 22. But over time, I’ve grown into taking care of myself — not with weekly bubble baths and scented candles (though I respect those choices too), but with the basics:
I work out. I eat as well as I can. I sleep like it matters. And I stick to skincare that supports me — not promises to “reverse” me.

I’ve loved skincare since 22, but I understand it now.
And guess what? My body has rewarded me.
I’m stronger. I feel better. And if I may say so myself, I even look better now than I did back then. Because I’m not racing against time, but finally working with it. This isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being kind to yourself, consistently.
It’s about letting go of the idea that youth is the ultimate beauty standard. It’s about understanding what skincare can help with (support, protection, maintenance), and what it can’t (erasing a decade of all-nighters and neglect).

So if you’re eating like crap, sleeping like a teenager, and ignoring your skin — then panicking every time you see a pimple or a grey hair, hoping the next “anti-aging” product will save you? That’s not a crisis. That’s your body asking for a little consistency.
Care for yourself. Not because you want to look 22 again, but because you want to feel your best now.
You don’t need to reverse the years, You just need to respect them.
PS: If you're nodding along, you’re already one of us!
The Anti Anti-Ageing Movement is just about caring differently — and showing up for your skin without trying to turn back time.
