ALANINE
ALANINE
DESCRIPTION
Alanine is the third most abundant amino acid in the skin’s Natural Moisturizing Factor (NMF) and is essential for strengthening its natural hydration. What is NMF? NMFs are water-absorbing materials found in the uppermost layer of our skin. By absorbing atmospheric water, NMF components keep our skin naturally hydrated. NMF contains sugars, amino acids, PCA, urea.
WHAT IT CONTAINS
It is a non-essential amino acid (important for the body & normally produced by the body, but with age, the levels drop). It is one of the 20 building blocks of proteins found in our body.

ASCORBYL METHYLSILANOL PECTINATE
ASCORBYL METHYLSILANOL PECTINATE
DESCRIPTION
This molecule delivers Vitamin C & silicium to deeper layers of skin. The silicium stimulates the production of collagen fibers Vitamin C delivered in the dermis helps boost collagen production & reduce oxidative stress in the dermis, keeping it elastic, voluminous, and radiant. The molecule also stimulates the growth of keratinocytes (cells that make the epidermis – the top layer of skin) to increase skin protection and its natural moisture level.
WHAT IT CONTAINS
The molecule has three parts – a derivative of Vitamin C (ascorbic acid), the silicium core, and the pectin (water-soluble carbohydrates found in certain plants) derivative.
WHY WE CHOSE IT
It is not enough to topically apply super ingredients such as Vitamin C if you want to prevent oxidative damage to your skin. It is also important that they penetrate and reach the right place in your skin. The skin gets its shape and structure from the dermis - the second layer of skin. To prevent premature aging and maintain healthy glowing skin, it is therefore vital to deliver active molecules such as Vitamin C and silicium to the dermis. This is what this superhero molecule does - fights causes of dull, tired, aging skin at the root.

ASCORBYL TETRAISOPALMITATE
ASCORBYL TETRAISOPALMITATE
DESCRIPTION
All skincare products use some derivative of Vitamin C because the pure form of Vit C is highly unstable. Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate (ATP) is the most stable derivative of ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) and with very high bio-availability. It can be absorbed into deeper layers of skin and effectively transformed into Vitamin C, the actual form that the skin needs. Unlike other derivatives, it is also oil soluble.
WHAT IT CONTAINS
It is an esterified derivative of ascorbic acid.
WHY WE CHOSE IT
ATP can reach deeper layers of skin, accelerate collagen production, and prevent free radical damage in deeper layers. Unlike L-Ascorbic acid (another potent derivative of Vitamin C), ATP does not irritate the skin and is comfortably taken by even the most sensitive skin types and synergistically with the antioxidant Vitamin E. It can produce better results even when used in doses 25 times lower than ascorbic acid.

COPPER PEPTIDE
DESCRIPTION
GHK- Cu or Copper peptide is a naturally occurring peptide in human plasma and facilitates the uptake of copper by cells. Copper is an essential trace element that is important in wound healing and enzymatic processes. Lysyloxidase, a vital enzyme for collagen and elastin production, is dependent on copper. On the other hand, the peptide sequence GHK is found in proteins of the skin's extracellular matrix (cement). Since the excessive breakdown of the dermal matrix and inadequate removal of damaged proteins, can negatively affect skin's health and appearance, GHK's ability to regulate both can support skin regeneration and improve its appearance.
WHAT IT CONTAINS
It is a tripeptide consisting of glycine, histidine, and lysine, which readily forms a complex with copper ions. Technically known as GHK-Cu, where GHK (glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine) corresponds to the peptide part.
WHY WE CHOSE IT
Studies have shown that copper peptide improves skin firmness and elasticity by accelerating collagen and elastin synthesis and accelerating the shedding of damaged collagen. Increase the production of water-holding glycosaminoglycan, which then keeps the skin naturally moisturized, improves microcirculation in skin's blood vessels. Adding Copper peptide to topical skincare regime can be useful in slowing skin-aging. With age, both the peptide and Copper levels in the body go down. GHK content is highest in the plasma of young, healthy individuals. At age 20, the plasma level of GHK is about 200 ng/mL, and by the age of 60, it declines to 80 ng/mL.

GLUTAMIC ACID
DESCRIPTION
An amino acid, glutamic acid helps in the bio-synthesis of proteins and the metabolism of carbohydrates. It also helps maintain the pH level of the skin and keep it hydrated.
WHAT IT CONTAINS
Glutamic acid is an a-amino acid and a non-essential amino acid (naturally synthesized by the body).
WHY WE CHOSE IT
If over-washed, acne-prone skin tends to become alkaline and dry, which then triggers the skin to produce more oil to compensate for the dryness. Glutamic acid, an amino acid, helps maintain the skin's pH (acidic) and, through that, regulate sebum production. It also aids in carbohydrate metabolism and thus releases energy, which helps increase the skin's vitality.
Also known as glycol or glycerine, it was initially obtained as a by-product of soap making, and now it is also made at an industrial scale from propylene and sugar. Today, glycerine has over 1500 known uses across different industries, but it did not become economically or industrially significant until Alfred Nobel invented dynamite in 1866!!
WHAT IT CONTAINS
Glycerol/glycerine is a simple polyol compound (alcohol) with three hydroxyls (OH) groups.
WHY WE CHOSE IT
We use glycerine primarily as a humectant (a type of moisturizing agent that pulls water into your skin's outer layer from deeper layers of your skin and the outside atmosphere). It is water-soluble and readily compatible with other ingredients and thus also acts as a solubilizer for several different active ingredients in a skincare product.

GLYCOLIC ACID
DESCRIPTION
One of the most famous & potent AHAs, glycolic acid, is a naturally occurring chemical exfoliant that dissolves the glue between dead skin cells, allowing the skin to shed them off quickly. It not only penetrates fast in the skin but also improves the penetration and enhances other therapeutic agents' activity in the product.
WHAT IT CONTAINS
Glycolic acid is an AHA and is naturally found in sugarcane extract.
WHY WE CHOSE IT
Glycolic acid is an exfoliant and helps the skin shed off dead skin cells. More importantly, its molecule size is such that it can easily penetrate deeper into the stratum corneum - the topmost layer of skin and thus help skin shed off dead cells even at depth and create space for younger and healthier skin cells. Not only that, but it also stimulates collagen production and results in an overall increased cell turnover leading to firmer and more youthful-looking skin.

HYALURONIC ACID
DESCRIPTION
Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is naturally produced in various human tissues (skin, connective tissues), where it helps attract water molecules and make them available for the normal functioning of cells. However, with age, the skins' ability to produce HA goes down, leading to dehydration, leading to fine lines, wrinkles, and other signs of aging. As a result, topical application of HA is important to make sure the skin remains hydrated and thus does not age quickly.
WHAT IT CONTAINS
Hyaluronic acid, also called hyaluronan, is an anionic, non-sulfated glycosaminoglycan (polysaccharide). There are several variants of HA available in the market today. We are using a vegan super active HA produced by a patent enzymatic degradation technology and it has very small molecule weight (less than 5kDA).
WHY WE CHOSE IT
We have used this particular source of HA for two reasons. First, it is a vegan HA that is made by fermentation of glucose using yeast extract. Second, this particular variant of HA has very low molecular weight which means it can penetrate quicker and deeper into the skin to make sure moisture is available even in the deeper layers of skin where wrinkles actually originate. We have added HA in all our water based or emulsion based formulations because we feel HA is not a luxury but a necessity for everyone, irrespective of skin type and skin concern.

Last but not least, it can be incorporated in skincare in an aqueous form, unlike other crystals, which have to be included in powder form and thus may be abrasive and detrimental to the skin.
